Operation Write Home

I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

Shaking off the snow for a few!

I put away the Christmas stuff (for now) and tried to have visions of warm spring days and sunny colors.

Valentines Already?

I'm trying to get in the Valentine type mood.  Actually, I think I just like making Love cards.  I know those men and women love their families and this amazing country.  God bless our Heroes!

Handmade Paper Trio

It seems odd to change from Christmas cards so soon.  Changing mo-jo takes a bit of effort.  I will be making personal Christmas cards but the ones for OWH are out the door!  Yay!  These 3 were made with a lovely handmade paper that has been sitting in my stash.  Not now!  I've got a lot more of this wonderful paper that will make great springtime cards.

Merry! Merry! Christmas Presents!

I'm trying to cover a bunch of different themes for Christmas.  This is a stamp that was enlarged on the computer before printing.  I made 11 of these bright, happy Merry Merry's!

Pearl Button Thinking of You

I took a break from Christmas cards to make this Thinking of You card.  I know the Heroes need general cards like this as well even through the holidays.  I wish you could really see this paper.  All the words are embossed.  Very cool stuff!  I made 7, then ran out of that pearl and pink ribbon.  That is a good "run out" since it means more cards in the box getting ready to go out.

Holiday Love!

This is meant to be a non-Christmas but holiday season "Love" card.

Celebrate with Snowmen!

I love all the cards that are being posted on the OWH FB wall of snowmen.  They are so dang cute!  Here is my snowman card.

One for the kids!

This one was made to send home to a child or younger family member.  I think the Merry Christmas on the embossed paper matched the swirly look of the lights.

Velvet Garland

Trying to get this box ready to go out by Saturday...Monday at the latest so it will make it by the deadline.  This card was made around midnight so that would explain why it is "left handed."  :)

Noel! Noel!

I made this card around midnight last night and when I got to my table at 5am this morning, I decided to make as many more of them as I can with the same supplies.  I got 4 more made and have a whole bunch of this ribbon left so, I will see how far it will go.  The snowflakes are a light green patterned paper.

More Christmas Cards!

Did someone say Christmas deadline?  Eek!  It is the end of October so that means for me these have to be out in about a week to get there in time.  Here is one I was making last night while watching "Happy Feet" followed up by watching JR on DWTS show off his happy feet and bringing us all to tears.  I got on a roll since I had pre-colored these........ I made 25!  That ought to get this box almost filled.

Getting the rustic Christmas feeling!

I found I had a pad of Tim Holtz idea-ology seasonal papers.  It has everything from Easter to Christmas.  My idea-ology is to use up all I can to make Christms cards for our Heroes!  Yay!

Fall-ish Thanks For Being You

Miles and the dogs kept bugging me to make more fall-ish cards.  The 4 of them don't quite understand the concept of deadlines for mailing for OWH  :)  It's ok, since it doesn't say Thanksgiving or anything specific.  (Maybe this one will have to stay home with me for while.)

More World Card Making Day!

I just had to make some more Any Hero Christmas-y cards.

Happy World Card Making Day!

Well, I have spent the morning out hopping around and seeing all the wonderful creations.  It is so hard to hop and make cards at the same time, but, several of the cards really did inspire me to make this one.  I know it has no sentiment.  That way it can be used for something other than just Christmas.
