Operation Write Home
I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

ODBD June 2015 Challenge - Missing You
The ODBD challenges will be over soon with the closing of OWH. This month the challenge is to make Missing You cards. I've made a bunch of more "Christmas-ish" Missing You cards and will be posting them soon as well. I just really haven't had any time for posting so this weekend I might be playing catch up. :)

ODBD - February Challenge - Animals
Wow, I can see from my last post that it has been awhile. It is just so dang hard to make cards on my bed, yeah the one I'm sleeping in, not a spare one. I don't think I have ever missed making one for the monthly ODBD challenge and so here it is. How about some fish???

OWH 4th of July VCMP - Challenge #11
Holy moly, this girl is just makin' cards! (Must be Miles' encouragement and some of yours as well!) This challenge is hosted by Marilyn is to make a card with a vintage mode of transportation. My favorite mode is the motorcycle! Yes, I love motorcycles. I miss my motorcycle. I need to get another one. OK, got side tracked there for a sec. This lovely digi of an antique motorcycle is from Free Vintage Digi Stamps and I thought it appropriate that it said.... Miss you.
OWH VCMP 4th of July - Challenge #9
You know, it just dawned on me that Miles used to love watching me work my way through a VCMP. He would come and encourage and critique. I wish he were here to see how I'm getting on with this one............
Challenge #10 is hosted by Andrea and is looking for a vintage-male card. The image is a digi from Free Vintage Digital Stamps and is one I use often. I hope Miles would approve. I miss him.

Masculine Grateful For You
Here is a little more manly gratitude card. I was cleaning up some scraps and this just "happened." I am grateful for when the cards just sometimes happen...... makes up for the days when Mr. Mo-Jo is absent. So in the box it goes!

Oldie Moldie Hello Handsome!
I know it has been awhile since I have made a card. I have had absolutely NO-MO-JO! None. I look at galleries and nothing........... I've been so busy with all the stuff that comes after losing Miles. And then this past week, my favorite Aunt who was like my 2nd Mom passed away......... I kind of felt guilty to even think of playing.
Then, after countless hours of looking through galleries I made this. I know it isn't a show stopper, but it felt good to put something together. I got the idea from a "Stump Sandy," the paper is Provo Craft and Creating Keepsakes (thus Oldie Moldie) that I had already cut up and was sitting in a box and that lovely ribbon was a gift from Pam T. I had enough paper cut to make 6 of these.

More Masculine
Yay! Internet for today! So, I'm going to post a bunch..... please bear with me.
The first one for today is another masculine card. I love these deer heads in part because they are an awesome image but also because they require NO coloring. I only color a few times a year...... I'm afraid I might get hooked on Copics and that would just be another addiction. (good excuse?) I don't have enough time (or cash really) to get hooked on something else. I need to use what I have to try to bring down the hoarding piles. Got 4 of these made for the OWH box.

Girly Birthday, Manly Birthday and some Love in between!
Shopping only in my own stuff I made these 3. The first was made with left over paper and some not quite all used up K&Co. borders and embellishments.
This one being a little more arsty with the DP insert cut with the Cricut.
And the masculine card used some fabulous deep embossed sports paper that someone sent to me a few years back. The swiss dots were embossed into this slick charcoal colored leftover.

OWH Sketch Challenge #210
The OWH Sketch Challenge for today is the 3rd in the Super Cardbowl Weekend celebration. The Cardbowl challenge is to use the sketch for today to make a masculine card. I'm going to make 6 cards with this paper and sketch and that should fill up that last space in my OWH box to be sent out. Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!

ODBD February 2014 Challenge
This is the 2nd challenge for the Superbowl weekend "Cardbowl" and is in combination with Our Daily Bread Designs monthly challenge. The challenge is to make a masculine card using primarily brown as the color. I've got more than a 12x12 sheet of the argyle so I will make a pile of these for the Operation Write Home box.
OWH Cardbowl 2014 Challenge #1
Sandy came up with the idea for celebrating the Superbowl weekend with a "Cardbowl." There are 3 challenges over 3 days starting yesterday. The cards are all to be masculine themed and each has a twist. This first one is to make a card using the colors of one of the teams in the Superbowl. I chose the orange and blue of the Denver Broncos and surprised myself by using a football and green striped paper for the field as well. I am please to see the Seahawks in the Superbowl and hope for an exciting game.

ODBD December Challenge - It's All About Him
This month for the ODBD Challenge we are to make masculine themed cards. Remember, each month that 50 cardmakers post to the challenge OWH receives shipping coverage for 2 boxes by ODBD. In addition, they do a random draw for 2 lucky cardmakers each month to receive a gift certificate to their shop! It is a huge win/win!!! The vintage motorcycle is a digi from Digital Two For Tuesday.

Design Bootcamp - Drawing a Blank
I had made this one for the bootcamp but "someone" ran off with my camera and I couldn't get it posted. This class was discussing white as a design element and not having to cover the whole card with color or pattern. Giving the eye a resting place as well.
Here are two attempts to use white on purpose in the design. This second one was going for a simple masculine look. The gold strips have a nice shimmer to help it make it have a more architectural feel.

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Cards 4 Kids
This week's Throwdown is especially for the Heroes to send home to their kids. I love this fun arrows paper as some of the arrows are shiny embossed. The truck is a die cut, found hiding in my stash, that I added a thin dimension to for a nice 3-d effect.
The road is made with a heavy textured paper and a border sticker. (sorry the pics are not quite as bright as the card..... it is dark foggy today)

Midweek Throwdown & Masculine Cards
Last week the MWT was for cards with tags and twine. And this week's Tuesday tutorial asked for masculine cards. Got 'em both!
This edge paper is really cool bamboo paper! The tag is K&Co and the letter stickers are EK Success.
