What a great way to start off 2015 at Operation Write Home than to have our challenge for ODBD to be making Any Hero cards! The background on this is a bit glossy and the twinkly stars are all stickers mounted on cardstock and then popped. Also the "U's" in USA are shiny and it is part of a cardstock border sticker from K&Co.
Operation Write Home
I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

OWH Top 14 of 2014
The following is a collection of some of my favorite cards that I made during 2014. This past year was very hard as my husband passed away in April and my favorite aunt (like a second Mom) passed away 30 days later. So much has happened in these 8 months and most of it NOT good at all so I am quite surprised that I have 14 cards to post for this blog hop. I hope you like these as much as I liked making them for our deployed Heroes!
These scrap cards were inspired by Seongsook and I loved mixing and matching all the papers.
OWH Sketch #164, kind of a masculine hello card.
What's not to love about patriotic Any Hero cards?
This one was from the OWH Cardbowl celebrating Superbowl weekend.
OWH sketch #218, I love that the papers did all the work!
In honor of my husband you used to always critique and encourage my cardmaking.
I know this one is fairly simple but it IS the only image that I hand colored this year. I love this stamp!
This one started out as OWH sketch #152 and then took a wander. I do rather like it!
This one was nuts! The fall leaves were thin stickers that I mounted on cardstock and then cut out.... yeah, I made several of these..... took forever but I really did like them!
This was actually made from scraps. I loved all the swirly patterns and colors.
More scrappy cards inspired by Cindy.
For me, kids cards are always a challenge but this one was extra fun to make.
On this one I liked all the bits and textures.
And last but not least, my FAV card of the holiday season filled with sparkle and bling!

ODBD December Challenge - Primary Colors
It's time for the Our Daily Bread Designs monthly challenge and for this month it is a color challenge. We are to make cards with primary colors. When I think primary colors I usually think of Mickey and his friends. I have a bunch of the squares from a sheet I had gotten at Michael's quite a while back. I left off a sentiment so that it could be for any occasion that a Hero would want to send a note to a child. He pops off the page just a bit for interest.

Lovin' the Leftovers!
Let me just start off by saying I have quite a few to post. I have been trying to clean up leftovers while packing up the craft space for my future move. (Crafting and packing do NOT go together well.) This first one is actually on some lovely gray paper not purple-ish like this silly photo shows... hm? Anyway, gray has become my new "kraft" as far as colors. Love it! The flower is a K&Co. 3D embellishment minus the bottom layer of foam. Their foam is very thin but there is a layer under the main flower and it starts to get a bit too thick for the Heroes to mail home for free. I just peel off the bottom layer and stick it down. Then add lots of Dimensional Magic to the flower for shiny accent.
Pre-made butterflies and those 3D flowers make these cards come together quickly.
This one features the free digi by Paula S. and the frame it sits on is a golden snowflake cut on the Cricut. No, the Cricut is packed..... I cut up some ahead of time and it was an easy go-to. The heart has Dimensional Magic for a nice bit of shine. There were just all these lovely chunks of paper sitting in the leftover basket. Love that crochet embellishment!
Last but not least, this card was made with chalkboard paper run through an embossing folder. It made all those lovely raised dots white without me having to sand it. The other large panel is a matte silver that just didn't want to photograph well. The flower and butterfly are also K&Co. I have a few baggies full of them and they make a nice quick and easy card. They all get Dimensional Magic for a little extra "love."
So there you have my Sunday installment. I'm working on a few more cards from the leftover basket this weekend in hopes to get this box finished for OWH and mailed out this week.

OWH Red Friday Blog Hop
Operation Write Home is having a Red Friday Blog Hop to help inspire card makers' creativity when most folks are preoccupied with Christmas holiday events. This is a great blog hop in that the theme is Love and it is held during a time that is typically slow for cards arriving at OWH.
I made one with the sentiment and one without so that it can be used for any occasion. These cards were inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. It isn't CASE'd but it got the mo-jo started. Thanks OWH, all the sponsors and contributors!

Christmas time
All these leftover slices can sure make a colorful card. The snowflakes were cut with the Cricut and the embossing folder is holly and leaf swirls.

Scrappy Birthday!
A couple of weeks ago Cindy R. inspired me to get some scrappy cards made. So, what better than "Scrappy" Birthday cards??? (I know, silly pun)
I like how these 4 turned out. I kind of noticed the same color theme as a few other cards I recently posted. Hm? :)

Veteran's Day Patriotic Card Challenge
Tonight Ann M. tossed out a challenge on SS FB page to make Patriotic Cards for Veteran's Day. Well, this Veteran has a couple of vintage looking ones to toss into the ring. In my family I have had a father, uncle, brother, cousins, brother-in-law and niece all serve. And I currently have a sister and a niece both in active service. My family IS Patriotic! :) Happy Veteran's Day to all who have served!
