Operation Write Home

I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

Midweek Throwdown - Christmas Cards

First I have to say, wow, is it ever hard to photograph shiny silver paper! This stuff makes great ornaments for the cards, but the shine can be a bit tough to get a good picture of. This card is for 2 challenges that happen to be on at the same time. The first one is for a WCMD celebration over at Simply Rae blog. It is for her sketch challenge. And as I was making it yesterday I saw that it was also good for the OWH Midweek Throwdown. That sort of timing rarely happens to me.

Hi Lynn!

It's fine to C.A.S.E. my cards ;) I love this one you made, I'm glad the timing was good for Operation Write Home's challenge too, I love it when that happens, thanks for playing along!

Beautiful, and having tried to get a good photo of shiny silver paper before, I'm sure it is far more beautiful in real life.

Your card is beautiful; love the Victorian feel. You may know this, but I've found if I stand back and use the zoom on my camera, there's less glare than if I take a picture close up to the card.
