Operation Write Home
I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

Birthday Sentiments
I just love this sentiment stamp! I think it is so classy. Yep, you guessed it, using up those K&Co 3-D stickers covered in Dimensional Magic. (I'm trying to get back into the swing of posting.) Yay!

Scrappy Birthday!
A couple of weeks ago Cindy R. inspired me to get some scrappy cards made. So, what better than "Scrappy" Birthday cards??? (I know, silly pun)
I like how these 4 turned out. I kind of noticed the same color theme as a few other cards I recently posted. Hm? :)

Happy Birthday
Cleaning up some leftovers, I almost don't even know what to say about Birthdays right now. Mine was so hard to get through. I'm hoping this OWH card will bring a smile to a few faces (receiver/giver/receiver). I didn't think I would like the chalkboard paper, but I am finding it adds a nice texture. It is the dark teal panel.

OWH 4th of July VCMP - Challenge #4
This challenge which is hosted by Lori was fun. Red, white and blue birthday cards. Why not? It is our country's birthday. I might make more of these to go in the next box to Operation Write Home.

OWH Sketch #5
Here on Sketch Sunday I decided to reach back into the sketch files and work an oldie. This is sketch #5.
The stripes on the center paper are all glossy embossed and the low profile buttons look like gemstones! I got 4 of these made for the next OWH box.

Girly Birthday, Manly Birthday and some Love in between!
Shopping only in my own stuff I made these 3. The first was made with left over paper and some not quite all used up K&Co. borders and embellishments.
This one being a little more arsty with the DP insert cut with the Cricut.
And the masculine card used some fabulous deep embossed sports paper that someone sent to me a few years back. The swiss dots were embossed into this slick charcoal colored leftover.

Parade of Leftovers
I have a bunch of cards that were made with leftovers aka scraps. This first one is made up of all shiny papers. The stripes on of the center paper are all glossy embossed.
This second one also has a RAK in the form of the embossed center birthday sentiment.
Yeah, there is a lot going on with this card! LOL! It was the black and white glossy patterned paper that was leftover. The sentiment is a digi from Paula.
Bits of shine and color.
Getting the hang of banners. Get it? Getting the "hang".... :)
And a little more of Pauls's digi.

Lovin' the Leftovers!
Today I'm going to show some love to the "Leftovers"! These are all cards made with scraps, leftovers, whatever you want to call them. Lately, I have found myself filling up a box with card fronts made with the leftovers.
They don't all make whole cards instantly because I don't necessarily have the mo-jo to complete them. But it keeps the scrap pile down and still gets future cards started.
Here is my parade of cards for today. The above card is made with a free digi from Paula. It is a favorite of mine! Thanks Paula.
Since I still have more 12x12 paper than the smaller 6x6 pads I often end up with a large piece leftover. This last one I had enough of the DP to make 4! Happy Sunday everyone!

OWH Sketch #177
Marlene was right! This is a great sketch! It really made me have to think about the patterned papers I chose. I was trying to keep in mind the lesson from June's Design Bootcamp class, the use of repetition.
Blog Hop Inspired Bonus Sketch #10
The recent Memorial Day Blog Hop inspired me to do a few sketches I found I hadn't done yet. Bonus sketch #10 is one of them.

VCMP Be a Rebel! Sketch + Kids Challenge
This weekend as scrapbookers everywhere are celebrating National Scrapbooking Day, OWH says "Be a Rebel!" and make cards for our nation's Heroes instead. I got off to a late start having to take care of lots of chores out here on the farm, but, the challenges are not date specific so I am getting started on mine today.
Paula is hosting the second challenge and it is to make kids cards using a sketch. I chose OWH sketch #85 for my card. I went for the boys or girls type card and popped the sentiment and some stars for fun and interest.

Birthday Tags
And now, in the category of "No-new-papers-were-harmed" we have the Birthday Tags! These were scrap fronts that I finished off.
The swirly things were cut on the Cricut and the pink ribbon is a yummy velvet.

MWT - Birthday Cards
This is a great Midweek Throwdown as it is wide open in layout, style, color, age and gender. I had gotten this wonderful stamp just a little while back and tried it out on 3 different cards. The box for OWH will have multiples of all three. The red lace border is a Martha Stewart punch.
The border on this one is a cradstock sticker border from K&Co. The twinkly leaves don't show up too well in the photo but I thought it made it look almost like lace. Ha! It's early in the morning, it could just be that I need more coffee! LOL!
One a little masculine.

OWH Design Bootcamp Day #1 and Sketch #16
This is the first day of this amazing Bootcamp being taught by Paula and the subject is Basic Color Theory. There is a ton of information to be found here. This is my attempt to follow the Analogous colors which are any three colors which are side by side on a 12 part color wheel. I wasn't sure if I had to USE 3 colors or just use colors that would be considered side by side.... hm??? This is also using sketch #16 from the OWH Sketch library.
OWH Sketch Challenge #156
This piece is a grey-blue with sort of a turquoise foil pattern. The sentiment is Stampabilities and the flowers are K&Co. cardstock border stickers. The gold mesh is a Michael's holiday ribbon. LOVE the gold mesh! I made 4 of these and started on another 4 with a different paper (to be posted later).

VCMP Challenge #5-Western Card
These little western cards are so cute on Sandy's blog where you will find challenge #5. This is a good challenge to get that manly/boyish/(cowgirl too) paper out. Yeeehaww! The star was made on a Cricut, the horse is a cardstock sticker from The Paper Studio and the sentiment was made on my computer.

OWH Make Em Laugh bloghop!
This blog hop has been so much fun! Lots of great participants and inspiration. I was having 'pun' block and then I saw Barb's card which is so friggin' cute! I got all motivated and dug out this image that was sent to me in a gift box a long time ago so I have no idea who the maker is. If you haven't checked out the blog hop, you should. It is for a very worthy cause and shows off the wonderful partnering companies that OWH is blessed to have.

More Birthday Bash - Robin's Fetish
Robin's Fetish is sponsoring one of the challenges for the OWH Birthday Bash. The challenge is to make a card using something round. I really like these round stamps and should use them more often as they are NOT fussy to cut out!
