Operation Write Home

I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

OWH VCMP Challenge #7

I know I'm getting out of order on the challenges but with the kids card bingo I drew a blank.  I will come back to that one.  Challenge #7 is hosted by Marilyn over at Blessed Creativity and is looking for a fall themed card without being "Thanksgiving" and to use a leaf motif in fall colors.  I also attempted to use OWH sketch #27, although I think I wandered off a bit.  I DID get the leaf in fall purple.....  :)

OWH VCMP Challenge #5

Ok, I have to admit that I thought this one was a bit odd.  BUT, I did try it.  Click here to see the challenge hosted by Donna where she inks up making tape.  Instead of taping my stamping block I taped a square piece of plywood with 2 different sizes of tape.  I found the wood grain to show through which was nice, however, I then had mo-jo block and couldn't think of one thing to do with it.  I will work on that one later.  This was my second try.

I took a piece of cardstock that I had already embossed with a folder and laid IT into the ink.  Now THAT was what I was looking for!  One other note:  I wiped the ink off the tape with a wet paper towel and set it aside for future use since it was on the wood and not on my stamping block.

OWH VCMP Challenge #4

I made this one last night but waited for better light to take the picture this morning.  I enjoyed this challenge hosted by Annette which is to make a "love" card using OWH sketch #29.  I noticed for some odd reason I hadn't used this one yet. I kind of like it........ guess I will be using it more.  The embellishment is from K&Co and I added Dimensional Magic to the center for a bit of glossy texture.
