Operation Write Home

I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

OWH Sketch #68 and then some!

This started out as OWH sketch #68.  I had this paper in 12"x8" so I had planned on making at least 4 of this sketch and then use the scraps to make some other cards.  Well.... yeah.  I got 3 cut and then suffered a severe case of not being able to measure and cut.

The paper for the 4th card didn't get cut right and somehow I ended up with a bunch of pieces that were NOT what was intended.

I should have just walked away.  BUT! then I saw these chunks of dark teal laying on my table and I ended up making all these cards with the parts that all got cut wrong..........

Sometimes I just don't get it........  :)

I have chopped my share of wrong sized paper. Your mistakes would never be known as mistakes. I particularly like the design of the very last one.

I have the "measure and cut" problem too sometimes. I don't get it. I'm saying it right in my head... but alas, something gets lost in translation between my head and fingers. At any rate, your cards are wicked awesome. The patterns and colors work splendidly together. Like Cora, I especially like that last one from your "mistakes"...

Mistake or no mistake, all the cards turned out beautiful. I love the striped paper and teal paper together. Great bunch of cards.

These are lovely...and mistakes are only embellishment opportunities. I even have a stamp that says that, so it must be true! Love the color combo too.
