Operation Write Home

I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

Birds and Butterflies - Sketch 145 - Midweek Throwdown

Edit to original post. (Timing is so funny.  I just made all these non-sentiment cards and that is the OWH MWT.) On this sunny Sunday afternoon I thought I would share some cards that are going in this next box to OWH.  They were inspired by sketch #145 on the Stars and Stamps blog.  This sketch is now one of my fav's!  I could make these all day long.

The above card is made with K&Co. cardstock sticker borders and 3-D birds and butterflies.  The birds and butterflies are not too thick and will fit in the envies just fine.

The copper looking border is a sticker I got from the dollar store and mounted on black.  I ended up making 9 of these all without sentiments for general cards.

This is a great sketch and there are some terrific samples on the blog for your inspiration as well. Happy Sunny Sunday (oops Monday, blogger uploading challenge)!

Lynn, This a a great group of cards you made for out heroes. I haven't used a map in ages on a card, thanks for reminding me. Nice job with the birds also. I like how you cut, layered them and popped them up. Great job on all.

These are beautiful and make terrific general cards. Great idea to use those 3D birds. I shy away from them but these are just gorgeous. Thanks for the inspiration to try something different!
