Operation Write Home
I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

OWH Sketch 193
This is from OWH Sketch 193. I haven't had time to take many of the challenges lately but hope to change that soon. With the next holiday coming up on the schedule being Valentine's Day, I made 8 of these.

Patriotic Snowflakes Just For You
How about some snowflakes in red, white and blue?
Or maybe a small pile of them? I'm not sure where I got this paper but I have a feeling it was during a visit to Ocala, FL when I raided the JoAnn's store.

OWH Design Bootcamp - How Does It Feel?
This one is for the OWH Design Bootcamp. The subject was about using texture both visual and tactile. My texture is the black scroll design along the bottom. It is a velvet sticker. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.
Winter Love x16
Thanks to Velda I was inspired to make these Winter Love cards.
She had blogged about a simple way to cut up 6x6 paper and make 3 cards. This DP was a 12x12 sheet that I cut down to 6x6 and then cut from there.

Midweek Throwdown - Seeing Stars!
I've got some time today to catch up on some posts and make a few cards so here goes! This week's Midweek Throwdown at Operation Write Home is called Seeing Stars.
And as you would guess we are making cards that have stars. My favorite star cards are for Heroes and children. Today I'm doing the Hero cards.

Design Bootcamp - Drawing a Blank
I had made this one for the bootcamp but "someone" ran off with my camera and I couldn't get it posted. This class was discussing white as a design element and not having to cover the whole card with color or pattern. Giving the eye a resting place as well.
Here are two attempts to use white on purpose in the design. This second one was going for a simple masculine look. The gold strips have a nice shimmer to help it make it have a more architectural feel.

OWH MWT - Snow Much Fun
I know I am way behind on my postings. I got a new job and I'm just running as fast as I can. the Mid-Week Throwdown had asked for a winter themed card with snow - NOT Christmas. I love snowflakes so this one was great to make and I made 8 of these!
I have had these beautiful beaded snowflakes for a long time and decided to get them out and use them. (no hoarding!) With the cotton lace I thought it just looked warm yet wintery.
ODBD October 2013 - Sentiments
The challenge for this month from Our Daily Bread Designs is to make a card where the sentiment is the focus. I actually do more of these than I do of images with sentiments.
