Operation Write Home
I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

CASE Ina Lea P.
Last night Sandy challenged us on FB to CASE a card from the wall. I love the card made by Ina Lea P. It is so bright and cheery, it was my obvious choice. Thanks Ina Lea for the inspiration!
Tow Mater
These Cars are just so dang expressive! I should have gotten more of this paper, but at the time I was not sure how I was going to make cards with it. Got quite a few more to make, better get at it.

Sunburst CASE
Here is goodie that is making the rounds. The Sunburst/Starburst. I like how this one looks like a quilt.
Cars!
I was making these "Cars" cards when Sandy suggested a Round Robin and her first card was a car. How funny! GTMA! Anyway, I don't know that I got the CASE, but I wanted to post the 2 I just made.

One Each, Lady and Gent cards
Today I have one of each. I think I kind of like it that way. Then the more manly cards don't get forgotten (to be made). The fishing card was made with a sticker and scraps and the Happy Birthday card is a flower from my magazine stash.

Big Stretch! You and Me
This design was a big stretch for me since these are not normally colors I work with. How this sheet of patterned paper ended up in my stash, I have no idea. It is the mustard color I don't normally use, but I had this cut out from my Cricut adventure at the LSS and I really wanted to use it somehow (this was totally unplanned). I made 4 last night and 5 this morning..... they are kind of growing on me.

Missing You
These were nice to make. Just a simple card. The circular border is made with a Martha Stewart punch and the frames from the Cricut (at my LSS). The dots have Dimensional Magic for a little shine. I made 8 with the solid frame and then ran out, so, I made 2 using the outside edge of the frame.

Blue Lace and Safari
This first card was made with a lovely tone on tone embossed paper. I luckily had an ink that matched, so I heat embossed with clear to carry the texture down to the sentiment.
And the safari card is another one made with leftovers (which I think multiply when I leave them alone in a dark room! LOL!)

Back to School Cards
This week the challenge was to make Back to School cards. Since I have no kids at home and no children/back to school type stamps, this really was a challenge. I located some old stickers and came up this blackboard idea. I hope the children like them. I made 3 (that is all I had of those stickers).
Manly and Frilly Love
I'm trying to keep a balance in making masculine and feminine cards. Here are two simple ones. The Frilly one has those Stickles on it, (my first time using it) since I had read that this glitter glue is safe to use. After it dried I rubbed and rubbed with my finger to see if I could get it to flake and it didn't. But I think I will put a dot of Dimensional Magic on top just to be even more sure.

2nd Starburst Red White and Blue
This was my 2nd attempt at the Starburst card. I started this one last night and finished it this morning. It has been raining since early this morning so I have had to wait until a break in the clouds to get some sunlight.

1st Starburst card
This is my first attempt at the starburst card shown in the Stars and Stamps tutorial. The directions were really good and this went together with no problem. Got to make more of these!

Love Kits!
This was so quick and easy! My friend Debby said she thought they looked "rich". Wasn't that nice. Ok, I made 18 of these. Wow! This has been a productive weekend! Yahoo! And NO scraps from this one. Another YAY!
Using those scraps!
What better way to clean up the scraps off my table than to make cards for Operation Write Home! Here are a few more and that means less stuff to have to put away or find a home for. Yay!!!
Mickey and Minnie Sticker Kits
I had some stickers that my daughter gave to me a long time ago that were Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I was inspired to use them after the OWH mini hop where cards were made using stickers. These stickers have a red background so I mounted them on red paper, framed in black and then mounted them on white cardstock. Then, took 2 (yes only 2) 12x12 sheets of that red and black Mickey paper and made 19 cards! Go Mickey! All that was left of the 12x12 sheets were 2 2"x1" bits that I didn't feel guilty about going into the trash.
Here are some of them close up. The hearts on some of them were stickers too that I mounted and added dots to to make the white scallops.

OWH Sketch Challenge #72 Purple Pear
I hadn't done one of the sketch challenges at Operation Write Home in a long time and today this one just jumped out at me. I thought this one could go "sentiment-less" and be used for used about any reason.
